My wife, Susan, and I have eaten at the Salt Rock Grill located at 19325 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores, Florida at least once during each of our last four annual trips to St. Pete Beach.   During these stays at the beach we have eaten at some very nice restaurants as far north as Tarpon Springs and as far south as Ft Myers Beach and I cannot think of any that surpassed the overall experience of eating at the Salt Rock.  You have the choice of eating on the rear deck that is on the inland waterway or in the stylish comfort of the interior of the restaurant.   Either way you can watch the boats as they navigate up and down the channel.

The menu is a true joy to the palate of a foodie as it offers a wide variety of seafood on their Dayboat Fresh Sampling page and an impressive array of steaks on their entrée page.  The selection of seafood on the fresh sampling page is a combination of fresh specialty seafood from around the world as well as from the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico.   The steaks are offered with a selection of sauces and I’ve tasted the Béarnaise and the Gorgonzola cheese butter sauces and they were delicious.  However, I have to admit that the sauces were served on the side, as I requested, and I tasted each alone and not of my steak.  The steaks are just too good to be covered with a sauce no matter how good the sauce is.

The prices are a little higher than most other restaurants in the area but the overall experience of the Salt Rock Grill is well worth it.
